Here we will follow on with the list of ways of checking where you have managed to successfully work out how to conceive a girl without going to see the doctor.
6. Speed of the baby’s heart. Faster than 140 a minute = Girl. Slower than this = Boy. During labour a girl’s heart may beat faster, but there is no scientific evidence of a difference in early pregnancy.
7. The ring test. If you dangle a ring (traditionally your wedding ring) over your bump and it goes round in circles = Girl. Same test but with the ring swinging from side to side = Boy. This is a hugely popular theory but it is backed up by absolutely no hard facts. Still seems to work for a lot of people for some reason.
8. How active is the baby? A relaxed baby who doesn’t move too much = Girl. A highly active baby = Boy. Unfortunately not all boys are hyperactive and not all girls are laid back though.
9. Breast size. If your left breast is bigger than the right one = Girl. Right bigger than left = Boy. Not the most scientific test ever but some people swear by it.
10. Gender test. This is a home kit which you use and then send off for results to see what sex is predicted. It is a method which is becoming increasingly popular and big claims are made around its success rate.
If you have been trying to find how to conceive a girl and trying hard to stick to the method you have chosen then it is important that you don’t get too excited or disappointed with the outcome of these home tests. A trip to the hospital or the doctor’s surgery is the only fool proof way to make sure that you know what gender of baby you are going to have.
